Microplex / Vilnius, Lithuania / 2023 / Status: Speculative Project

Adaptive reuse projects are central to the future of Lithuanian cities. Currently, large apartment blocks are being renovated, inner-city industrial buildings are being converted into lofts, and collective gardening communities are being suburbanized. One element of the urban fabric that has not received attention is Soviet-era brick garages. This speculative project interrogates this overlooked type and suggests transforming garages into small, inexpensive commercial and residential units.
